ReVanced Extended

ReVanced Extended is an Android modification project for YouTube and YouTube Music. It adds advanced playback controls, ad blocking, SponsorBlock integration, interface customization, privacy options, Shorts controls, background playback and many other features not available in the standard apps. The familiar YouTube and YouTube Music interfaces stay intact, while extra settings let you configure the experience around your own viewing and listening preferences.

No. ReVanced Extended is an open-source software project rather than a commercial company. It began as a feature-focused fork of ReVanced and has been developed through public repositories, community contributions and automated build systems. It does not operate as a subscription streaming service and does not own YouTube, YouTube Music or their content.

ReVanced Extended was created by inotia00 as an expanded fork of the original ReVanced project, with a broader patch collection and more detailed customization. The original ReVanced Extended patch repository has since been archived, and current builds use Morphe patches and related components developed to continue the project’s core functionality.

Morphe is the current successor to the original ReVanced Extended patching platform. It continues the same general approach of applying configurable patches to supported Android apps, while expanding compatibility, customization and patch management. Current ReVanced Extended builds may use Morphe patches even where the ReVanced Extended name is kept for product continuity and recognition.

Most users should choose the non-root ReVanced Extended YouTube APK and install MicroG RE first. This option needs no unlocked bootloader, Magisk, KernelSU or desktop computer, and is the most direct path to account sign-in, subscriptions, playlists, history and the main features. Root modules and Morphe are intended for users who need deeper integration or more control over the build.

No. ReVanced Extended supports both non-root and rooted devices. Non-root users install a separate patched APK together with MicroG RE. Root users can install a Magisk or KernelSU module for deeper integration and behavior closer to the stock package. Rooting a device solely to use ReVanced Extended is unnecessary for most people.

MicroG RE provides the Google authentication services needed by non-root patched apps, so you can sign in and access subscriptions, playlists, history and recommendations. It does not replace the full Google Play Services installation; it works as a companion component. It is generally not required when a compatible root installation method is used.

No third-party Android package should be called automatically safe. Open-source code and automated builds improve transparency but do not remove every supply-chain or distribution risk. Use builds linked through the recognized project repositories and branded release pages, and avoid renamed APKs, unofficial mirrors and shortened links. Before installing, confirm the app name, package name, release date and the required MicroG and YouTube versions.

Yes. ReVanced Extended, its patches and the main supporting tools are distributed as open-source software with no required subscription. YouTube Premium is a separate commercial service operated by YouTube; ReVanced Extended is not a Premium subscription, includes no paid account benefits and is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.

ReVanced Extended was created as a more feature-intensive fork with additional customization, more granular interface controls and a stronger focus on YouTube and YouTube Music. Standard ReVanced favors a more conservative feature set, while ReVanced Extended and Morphe provide more detailed control over appearance, playback, navigation, Shorts, privacy and player behavior.

ReVanced Extended can connect to supported external downloader apps such as Seal, NewPipe or YTDLnis when the relevant patch is enabled. The patched app does not necessarily include a full downloader by itself; it can pass a link to an installed downloader. Only download content where permitted by the copyright holder, the service terms and your local law.

Yes. Account sign-in is supported on compatible non-root builds through MicroG RE. Root builds may use the device’s existing Google services depending on the installation method. You can also use ReVanced Extended without signing in, or with a separate account. Using a modified client always carries some platform-level risk, and no independent project can guarantee Google will never change its policies.

Download a newer compatible build and install it over the existing app when the package name and signing key are unchanged. MicroG RE, Morphe and root modules may need separate updates. Don’t assume the newest stock YouTube version is supported: patches target specific app versions, and an incompatible version can cause failures, crashes or missing settings. Root users may also need Zygisk Detach to stop the Play Store replacing the required version.

ReVanced Extended is designed for Android. APK files cannot be installed on iPhone or iPad, and Android root modules cannot be used on iOS, Windows, macOS, Linux or most smart TV platforms. Some unrelated iOS apps offer similar features but are separate projects. Android TV compatibility depends on the app, architecture, Android version, input method and selected patches.
